Vivien TSE ARCT, B.A. in Mus. (UBC), Art Designer Musicology, History 音乐学,钢琴
Vivien Tse is a registered RCM piano, theory, and music history teacher who has been teaching for 6 years. She began teaching during her undergraduate music studies at the University of British Columbia, after accomplishing and obtaining her ARCT in Piano Performance. During her studies at UBC, she discovered her passion for music history and musicology. She graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree majoring in Music.
Vivien believes that learning music history is crucial to a student’s music studies in any instrument, as well as an essential part of being a well-rounded musician. Students learn to approach their music from a historical standpoint when they gain the knowledge of the historical context and background of the music, as well as understand the historical biography of the music’s composer, his musical style, and the impact and significance he left in the world of music. These important facts then help guide the student to provide an accurate interpretation of the music based on historical context.
